Is this web server specific? I can't get it to run under Microsoft IIS, but it works flawlessly in Apache. IIS 6 and below dont have an option like mod_rewrite, apparently IIS 7 does, I haven't tried it yet. There are a number of 3rd party apps that can add this functionality to IIS 6, some are free and some paid for, Im currently using Isap/rewrite from helicontech which works for my needs ( zend framework).
