Near as I can figure, this can only be done from the web server level. An
example of a site that does this is http://www.driveway.com/
. The scripts
that covey the status to the screens are very simple. But whatever's
generating this information is not.
Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm looking into this as well.
Anthony

Subject: [PHP] File Transfer
Hi PHP's
'm involved in doing a web based application for file transfer using PHP,
Linux. For ur information i am able to upload files. Still I want to know
the following things:
1. Can i know what is the status of the file transfer in percentage and put
a status bar (perferably in a different window).
2. Can i know whether the file has been uploaded or not completely (and
close that window).
3. What will happen if there is a connection loss?
Also i wud like to know your suggestion on similar other questions, involved
during file transfer.
