As I've had a couple of replies telling me my post is "off-topic," I thought
I'd provide more info.
The IMP webmail application, written in PHP, refuses to run if it finds
itself "web-configurable." That is, if it detects a couple of files are
readable and/or writable *BY THE USERID UNDER WHICH PHP RUNS* it will refuse
to run.
posix_getuid() is coming back with a UID of zero on this system, apparently
getting it from the Apache web server's parent process. Thus, even if all
the correct permissions are set on the IMP checkfiles, the application still
refuses to run, since UID 0 has superuser priv's.
