Just upgraded to PHP 4.0.5-dev
(snaps from December 5th)
Our server gets pretty good traffic: 150,000 hits a day
and ALL of it is 100% parsed by PHP4.
(Yes every single page in the whole site.)
Biggest improvement: the SESSION problems went away!
The phone calls from customers saying their shopping cart is suddenly empty have stopped.
We use PHP4 sessions with --enable-trans-sid for our shopping cart.
Apache: 1.3.14
MySQL: 3.23.28-gamma
compiled as APXS Apache module.
Working wonderfully. Feels faster.
We were previously with PHP 4.0.0 from about May, 2000.
Just thought you should know.
