Greetings all,
I am having confusion about how to do something in the easiest bit of code.
I can figure out how to do this I think, but the ideas I have involve allot of code. I am looking for something shorter that will also help me learn.
Okay I have a table with some values like
values
id value
1 1400
2 1200
3 1100
4 1000
Now I have a record in another table that has a user_value and a standing column.
user
id standing user_value
1 1 1456
2 4 1054
3 2 1321
The user_value changes allot based on input from the user.
okay a user updates his user_value column. I want a script/query that will query the values table. Compare the values column to the user_values column and then sets the users standing based on the value.
So for example.
User 2 adds 50 to his user_value column for 1104. Query will see the value is >1100 but <1200. So the standing of 3 is assigned to the user.
Thanks
