configure libxml and php4

Hi,
i want to configure --with-dom with php4.
But i dont get it working.
1. i installed both, libxml and libxml-devel, was this necessary?
2. i have different dirs, to which i can point --with-dom, i dont
know which i should take, there is one at /usr/include/gnome-xml with
a lot of C-header files, is this the one?
3. does phpinfo() print out a special section for libxml to check if
it was configured correctly?
