Tidy on a shared host

I've written an application that depends heavily on Tidy for cleaning up user inputed text. Unfortunately, some shared hosts won't install the extension for my clients. Is there a way I can install a stand alone version using FTP with access only in a directory where my program resides. The hosts have given me restricted FTP to the dir. Or, does anyone know of a stand-alone php class that emulates the tidy extension. I've looked; but, not found any. Al..........
