maybe I misunderstood. Do you mean does filesize() get file sizes for only local files. I think the answer is yes. The reason why I say that is because it doesn't make sense that it would work on a remote file because not all remote file protocals give file size, nor is is reliable if it does. -jeremy brand Jeremy Brand :: Sr. Software Engineer :: 408-245-9058 :: jeremy@nirvani.net http://www.JeremyBrand.com/Jeremy/Brand/Jeremy_Brand.html for more Get your own Free, Private email at http://www.smackdown.com/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - At least for the people who send me mail about a new language that they're designing, the general advice is: do it to learn about how to write a compiler. --Dennis Ritchie On Mon, 11 Dec 2000, jeremy brand wrote: > Date: Mon, 11 Dec 2000 10:49:25 -0800 (PST) > From: jeremy brand <jeremy@nirvani.net> > To: enthalpy <enthalpy@core.com> > Cc: php-general@lists.php.net > Subject: Re: [PHP] Get File Size > > Look at the function definition (it returns an integer - the size of > the file (most likely in bytes) or zero if an error occured) > > -jeremy brand > > Jeremy Brand :: Sr. Software Engineer :: 408-245-9058 :: jeremy@nirvani.net > http://www.JeremyBrand.com/Jeremy/Brand/Jeremy_Brand.html for > more > Get your own Free, Private email at http://www.smackdown.com/ > - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - > At least for the people who send me mail about a new language that > they're designing, the general advice is: do it to learn about > how to write a compiler. --Dennis Ritchie > > On Mon, 11 Dec 2000, enthalpy wrote: > > > Date: Mon, 11 Dec 2000 12:48:30 -0600 (CST) > > From: enthalpy <enthalpy@core.com> > > To: jeremy brand <jeremy@nirvani.net> > > Cc: php-general@lists.php.net > > Subject: Re: [PHP] Get File Size > > > > > > > > well.. you would think i would go and try that.. hehe.. one more question > > does it work like getimagesize ??
