There are innumerable email validation functions in the code archives.

Note that an RFC-compliant test would have a RegExp about three (3) pages
long...
And you *still* can't be 100% certain the email is any good at all -- It
only makes sure it's syntactically correct, not valid.
You could pound against some MX records with lookup and whatnot (see the
list archives) but even that isn't too useful, since some servers refuse to
respond, others always respond positively no matter what, and ...
Pick the validation that looks "best" and try it out.
