I usually just use some JS in the footer.php of the page to go back and
change the title based upon other stuff, say the user's name or whatever:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
parent.document.title = "<?= PRODUCT_NAME ?> :: <?= $PAGE_TITLE ?>";
</script>
