I think this works quite a lot better, although now I know I'm missing some modules :) The directories: init central include(s) responsible for initializing the system (it is a directory because one might want to set up a governing function which can be called with parameters, so everything isn't automatically included) lib libraries which provide some set of functionality modules 'page' modules which are responsible for performing a function, and sending presentation markup to the client. typically small, single function. in many cases these will require libs to function. apps collections of modules & pages which make sense as a larger application, i.e. a knowledge base or a help system. modules which are part of an application _can_ be called separately :) cloudcore basic functions: database abstraction, template, etc templates all templates that are used globally (i.e. not module specific. conf system configuration: user types, permissions, db defs, etc bin various cgi & shell scripts which are used for code optimization, webserver log analysis, etc doc all documentation. install installation 'staging' area and storage repository for all installed modules, applications, libs, etc. let mw know if you think anything is missing specifically from init or from modules.
