Don't fret over what others say, nobody has time to care what others
think of them but usually it's just misscommunication anyway. Like in
this case.
One may consider Google for searching too. Google searches everything and
pretty much rules, for php specific questions as well. Searching this
mailing list is nice too but keep it simple -- *think keywords*. Other
options do exist :
http://php.faqts.com/ ( be sure to try this )
http://php.net/search.php ( various choices )
http://www.google.com/ ( UberMetaSearch )
It's not a matter of "RTFM" but it's "RTFM and here's how and check
other sources as well." The key is "what to search for" as garbage in,
garbage out. *keywords and Keyterms* are to be used.
After awhile one understands better how to use the manual as a useful
reference. Reading/skimming through the whole thing at least once usually
helps this process of "think and find." Choose your tools and use them
wisely.
And lastly, we (humans) tend to forget that repeat questions are asked by
new humans during each instance yet our brain says "damn it, this has been
asked 10x already!!" This is common. This is human nature. This should
be kept in mind.
This is a rant and is only partially related to you, Carsten, so keep
that in mind.
Regards,
Philip
