Executing external program ?

Hi, I work on NT/ IIS/ PHP/ MYSQL environment. I want to execute the mysqldump command. The problem is when i execute it the command the browser seems to keep on executing it without displaying any messages. I am not sure that the program is getting execute only. My code looks as follows - <?php $bindir="c:\mysql\bin\"; passthru( $bindir."mysqldump --quick shop > bkup.txt " ) or Die('Couldnt Query '.mysql_error()); echo ("Program ran successfully"); ?> Can someone help me out ?
