Maybe something to keep in mind is that php works on the server side generating
the document to be sent to the browser. The javascript is on the client
(browser) side (except for server-side javascript but I don't think that is what
you are looking for). You could do what you are looking for by creating a page
with the proper image names (using php) and javascript to do the timing and
image switching. The javascript would be basically static except for the image
names which would be changed by php at page delivery time.

can you incorporate java script into php? (I am using php because each
image has to be generated on the fly, based on a data set...realtime data)
Thanks,
Jessica
