Just FYI We use FastTemplate with a caching addition on the following sites: www.winbook.com www.powerspec.com www.mei-microcenter.com and a few others. We use templates to seperate code from HTML primarly because our designer's user Macromedia Dreamweaver, and appreciate working with Templates. We've found FastTemplate extremely suitable. With the added caching capabilities, the sites are noticably faster. Caching, IMO, is faster and easy to manage with templates. To see the templates, just browse the sites, and change *.phtml -> *.html If you have any other questions about FastTemplate, feel free to send them to me. Regarding: > (doesn't require all-caps variables; allows > multiple blocks within one file; seems to run faster). These are undoubtable valid concerns for the author, but they have not been an issue for us. We have some fairly complicated pages, and FastTemplate's cababilities have not been a limiting issue. I have not used phplib's template class, though I'm sure its cababilites are comparable. I am only speaking from my experience with FastTemplate. Despite an astounding lack of experience in writing parsers, I've started implementing a modified version of Ohrt & Zmievski's system. Am I wasting my time? Is it implemented somewhere? Is there something just as good? Are my graphic designers and I missing something and FastTemplates actually can be used for serious work? -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
