Well, it is true - you can never rely on flush(); it will send everything to the browser for sure, and that is all flush() can do, then it will be up to browser on what to show and how to show it. I use flush for intranet projects only, when I know that there's explorer 5 on each machine. That's the answer I was looking for! However, it seems diff browsers produce diff results. The flush() command doesn't work as hoped on IE v 5.5 but does on Netscape 4.75 It'll have to do.... thanks John ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maxim Maletsky" <maxim.maletsky@japaninc.net> To: "'JB'" <jbeebe@aimsmarketing.com>; "jcrowe" <jcrowe@greenhills.net>; "John Damask" <jbdamask@dotclick.com>; <php-general@lists.php.net> Sent: Monday, December 18, 2000 9:15 PM Subject: RE: [PHP] Wait.....I'm sleeping! > use flush(); put it after your print() and it will force the browsers to > display the content while PHP is still processing the file. > > Cheers, > Maxim Maletsky > > -----Original Message----- > From: JB [mailto:jbeebe@aimsmarketing.com] > Sent: Monday, December 18, 2000 11:15 PM > To: jcrowe; John Damask; php-general@lists.php.net > Subject: Re: [PHP] Wait.....I'm sleeping! > > > LMAO... this sounds like homework.
