In php3 the gethostbyaddr would simply return the ip address if it couldn't
resolve the DNS entry, and the documentation reflects this.
now, in PHP4 an error is displayed to the screen, rendering some of my pages
useless. Should I do:
if (gethostbyaddr($REMOTE_ADDR)) {
$address = gethostbyaddr($REMOTE_ADDR);
} else {
$address = $REMOTE_ADDR;
}
would that work?
