I don't know why it's not working for you (it works for me on Win2k with 4.0.4), but a workaround would be to use the query 'show tables' and then you can use the results like you would any other query.

I've just built and installed PHP4.0.4 (other relevant info: MySQL 3.23.29-gamma, Solaris 2.5.1, Apache 1.3.14, PHP configured with XML, track-vars and Apache), and the function 'mysql_list_tables' no longer seems to work correctly. It always indicates that my databases contain no tables (which is not the case, and MySQL, accessed directly, has no problems listing the tables or performing operations on them). The bulletin board at <http://www.phpwizard.net/> suggests that others have been affected by this problem. One person there suggested ensuring that setting:register_globals = Onin the 'php.ini' file had solved the problem for them. It doesn't seem to make a difference for me (or for others on the list). Is this a known bug and, more important, is there a workaround?
