PHP config question

I'm trying to convert my more common functions (ie: connection and session
scripts) into library functions (ie: dblib.inc and sessionscript.inc).
Before, they were in each page.
I made a test script just to see if the .inc files are working
properly. However, the actual .inc file contents is printed out when I
try to include it in my test page. Is this a PHP config issue that I
missed?
