Depends on the database... Assuming you are using MySQL, there's a mysql_get_fields() or somesuch that will list all the fields of a table. Shouldn't be too hard to check if the field you are looking for is there or not. ----- Original Message ----- From: John LYC <john@edlabs.com> Newsgroups: php.general Sent: Thursday, January 04, 2001 11:43 PM Subject: [PHP] Check if column exsit in DB > Hi, > mysql question. > > How do i check if column exist in DB...? > if (yes) > { do something;} > > i know normally, sql will die if column is non existing... > > john > > > > > > > -- > PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) > To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net > For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net > To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net >
