Hi Steven,
I'm new too, but I would say _absolutely_ the latter. I think it works
faster, and it's certainly much easier to debug etc. -- I once had a whole
stack of PHP/embedded HTML screw up just because I forgot a closing td tag.
And if you embed it, you end up with too many \" and the like to remember!
