SUBJECT: ssl enabled apache = NO php sessions
We currently have two web servers. One is running perfectly. I'm trying to
build a second machine, and this following problem seems to be the only
problem.
Both machines are running Apache 1.3.12, modssl 2.6.4, openssl .0.9.5a,
JServ 1.1, and PHP/4.0RC2 on Intel P3/600. PHP has Oracle and MySQL support
enabled.
For some reason, whenever we start apache in ssl mode (listening on both
nonsecure and secure ports) we lose the ability to store php sessions. If
we start it in non-secure mode only, php sessions work fine.
To be more exact, the php session IS being written into /tmp, with a valid
file name, but the length is zero.
Is there some setting I forgot to set somewhere when creating my second
server that would cause this behavior? Is there something I missed? I've
read through the FAQs and haven't found anything regarding this problem?
The php.ini files are identicle, and the output of phpinfo() is identicle
on both servers.
