Inconsistency session ?

Dear all, I got problem with session.. at first script is executed, (which we put session_start at there) we got cookies PHPSESSID, and I track it in directory /tmp, and I see it. at second script is executed (which we put session_start again), we register some variabel session, and I track it in directory /tmp, there is some variable stored in file /tmp/sess_xxxxxxx at third script is executed (which we put session_start again), I got new cookies (new PHPSESSID), and then we lose session variable that registered with previous session. Why this is happen ? I develop my application in Mandrake distribution. We got no problem (with the same script) at Redhat distribution, after I get first PHPSESSID, I don't got any new PHPSESSID until i close the browser. Any experience with my problem ?
