Hmmm - using a MySQL manual to look up answers to an Oracle question. Guess
he'll be up all night :^)
Take a look in Oracle manuals about ROWNUM, as in
select * from table1 where ROWNUM < 10
and if it's a large table then
select /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ * from table1 where ROWNUM < 10
may work significantly faster.
