This topic is covered a lot. Right now there are two major DB abstraction
packages, Manuel Lemos' Metabase (
http://phpclasses.UpperDesign.com/browse.html/package/20
) and the one that is
distrubuted with PHP located in your distributions PEAR directory. Try both,
see which one works better for you.
