I still haven't sifted through all the code (lots of functions), but I plan
on learning from these articles on devshed. (specifically "Commerce2")

I don't know how secure it is (he doesn't use SSL), but he does use md5
passwords into a MySQL database. There are scripts for user administration,
automatic password generation, and user password requests via email.
(He also covers shopping carts and product catalogs in the other tutorials).

Subject: [PHP] Good Login Sample
Does anyone have or know where to find a good example of a login using a
database to get access name and passwords then using cookies?
I have thought of a couple ways to do it but I want to make sure I'm not
creating security risks and I also want to make sure every page on the site
is protected. Yes I can do it with an .htaccess file but I would rather do
it in a webpage then allow the user to have a cookie saved to remember their
account.
I don't need the full thing done for me, Id just like to have something to
start with. The existing login scripts I have found have been insufficient
for what I want to do. They are either just a regular login that checks a
database and doesn't check every page to make sure the user is logged in and
is a correct user or they don't allow for saving the information to access
the site.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
