I've never been able to get this to work either.
I believe it has to do with the browser 'caching' it in memory so you're not
prompted for each subdir or whatever. The only suggestion I have is to tell
the user to close the browser (actually, ALL occurences of it) and re-open
it again to clear it out. Sucks I know, but that's the only thing that's
worked so far. and I tried to set them to null, to "", to unset(), etc...
-----------------
Ever considered using a few headers to tell the browser not to cache the
page? Another idea that I have off the top of my head is possibly simluating
different "resources" for each subdir that needs to be validated? I bet if
you telneted to port 80 and looked at the headers the server sends, you
would be able to mimic them and make it so it's different every time (as far
as what the browser thinks it's trying to validate) so it'll always ask to
be revalidated.
Just a few thoughts.
John
