Compiling Scripts

[I'm not on this list, please CC me in reply] Is there any way to compile a .php file instead of using the source code to distribute? Problem is, I may have to release an application written in PHP out to companies who do not wish to use this application across the Internet and would like to use it on their local intranet. I do not wish to have to deal with the non-disclosers, agreements, etc which comes with releasing source code.
