<php> installing PHP4 with Apache

hi i'm encountering errors wheng running 'make ' during my apache installation. i have installed PHP4 correctly already. inside apache directory, i ran this: ./configure --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libmodphp4.a --prefix=/usr/local/apache then when i ran 'make', i have the ff errors: make: Fatal error: Don't know how to make target `libmodphp4.a' Current working directory /usr/local/apache_1.3.6/src/modules/php4 *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all' Current working directory /usr/local/apache_1.3.6/src/modules *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `subdirs' Current working directory /usr/local/apache_1.3.6/src *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `build-std' Current working directory /usr/local/apache_1.3.6 *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `build' did i call the correct module to activate? please help...
