try somethin' like this...
$result = mysql_query("SELECT 'islname' FROM $table WHERE id='$id'");
// For one row.. use a zero
$islname = mysql_result($result, 0, "islname");
// Otherwise, loop through
$islname=mysql_result($result, $i, "islname");
