Re: PHP w/ Oracle OCI8 - how stable?

I configured PHP --with-oci8=/path/to/oracle/home, and I'm seeing "flaky" behavior when I restart Oracle without restarting the web server - ORA-03113 and ORA-03114 errors all over. Then when I restart the webserver everything is fine again. Is this unusual? Did I do something wrong in the setup? I shouldn't have to restart the webserver after I restart Oracle should I?
