Hi
You're right: mysql_insert_id() doesn't work with updates.
When you do a db update, I guess you will have one or more update criteria
(update.... where ....). You can apply the same criteria to a query (select...
where) and you will get the entries that will be or have been affected. If you
don't set any criteria you can be sure that every table row has been affected by
your update query.

Looking PHP manual I've noticed that there is no
function to determine id from update operation.
After insert operation you can get id using
mysql_insert_id(), but what about update??
So my question is how get id from update operation?
