If you want to use sockets to get your XML file, see
<http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.sockets.php>.
But more than likely you
just want to get it over HTTP (without handling the sockets yourself). In
this case, you can just use fopen to get a file at a URL. See
<http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php>.
