You can compile Apache with the mod_so module: ./configure --enable-module=so [and other options...] and of course 'make', then 'make install'. Then compile PHP with APXS: ./configure --with-apxs=[path to apxs] [and other options...] and of course 'make', then 'make install'. [Disclaimer: It's been a while since I last had to do these configure commands, so they may be incorrect. I sincerly apologize if they are. But to the best of my memory, they are indeed correct.] If you're under Solaris 8 and you want to include MySQL into the PHP module, you'll have to do some fiddling with the configuration files for PHP. If you want to compile Apache statically, you could try upgrading your compiler to the newest gcc. Hope this helps! Stephen.
