nslookup function ?

I'm working on a email address verification script and need to do a DNS
lookup given the IP number of a remote host.
ie: is me@here.net a viable address?
get IP gethostbyname(here.net);
nslookup IP to get mail server address
pfsockopen blah...blah..blah...
so........is there a nifty yet undocumented nslookup() function out
there?
