Try to empty the web cahce of your browser.
And one more thing, in PHP there is a default time limit while a session is not killed.
[from the manual]

PHP sees your session a normal one until this time ellapses and continues from where you stopped.
I might be wrong, but AFAIK session is connected to the client and neither the window nor
application exactly.
This means that if you close the browser and reopen it on the same box this will be the same client
for the server.
