Top Frame

Hey, I have a pae where a variable is passed to a frameset. the main frame then loads whatever page the use wants. What I want to do is be able to use the variable in the frame themselves. I can't seem to grab that variable for the frames, it works perfectly for the frame set just not the individual frames! Is there a way to capture that variable for the frames?
