Building dynamically loadable library

I am using PHP 4.0.0 on linux RH6.2. I was able to build static library and it works
nicely. Now I try to build it dynamically. I used same flags as making
calendar.so.
Ater building my.so, I observed the following:
1. The first function call, any functions in my.so, works correctly.
2. The second function call, any functions in my.so, does not work.
Instead it points to an unrelated function.
Any advice is appreciated.
