php4.0.0+Apache3.0.12+sybase10.0 on AIX4.3

Hello,
I compiled php4.0.0 and linked statically to Apache server(host A) with
sybase option. There is no error till make install in both php4 and
Apach12.
Our sybase server is running on Host B where there is a valid user named
rajesh with passwd rajesh for a database testdb.
Now when I execute the following php script using bundled
php-4.0.0/tests/run.html:-
$db=sybase_pconnect(HostB,rajesh,rajesh);
if(!db)
print db_failed;
else
print db_success;
The result is always db_failed while our database is up and running and
operational using isql client.
Can anybody help me out to make it a success?
