The Troubles with User Input

Hello, Is there an easy way to stop special characters (like ' ) from messing up how they are displayed by PHP. Whenever someone enters in a ' in the script it comes back with lots of slashes before it. This message: http://www.openconcept.on.ca/cards/receive.php3?viewcard=276 Was sent with the following request: This is a test ' This is a test But I got this instead: This is a test \\ This is a test The entire script can be found here: http://www.openconcept.on.ca/guide-cards.phtml Thanks.
