Eric, You will not be able to redirect programmatic flow from a child window back to the parent window. You can spawn a child because the parent "knows how to" - there is no mechanism in the protocols that I've ever come accross which would allow the child to return control to a parent browser. Another of the curses of stateless protocols. The best you might be able to accomplish is to have the parent window go into a blocking state (server-side) and have the child send a semaphore of some sort. Sounds pretty flakey to me but it might work if you make sufficient allowances for the inherent unreliablility of HTTP connections.
