+SHow Image from DataBase

Yes, I know maybe someone asked this first, and the answer was to: LOAD INTO DUMPFILE 'pic name' and then retrieve the file from PHP But , isn't there a way for PHP, to echo the Binary stuff directly to the browser instead of making the Picture first exist in a file ? something like: <IMG SRC='showpic.php?$pic'> And showpic.php make the Select stuff from the DataBase in Binary Mode, and dunpit directly to the browser, will this work ? I don't think so...
