CGI and static module simultaneously?

I am wondering if it is possible to create and use the php4 cgi and
static apache module on the same server. The reason is that I generally
want to continue using the static module I have compiled into apache but
I guess I need to cgi version to run scripts from a chron job. Or... is
there some way I can run scripts as via chron without having to go the
CGI route (much better if possible)?
