I would have done it this way:
$query = "SELECT * FROM albums, songs WHERE albums.AlbumID = 2 and
songs.albumid = 2 and albums.album = \"Collection\";
$result = mysql_db_query("musicdb", $query);
Check the " being escaped with \ (backslashs)
