Getting the current URL (with arguments) as a variable, then removing another variable from that ?

Is there a way that I can get the current URL, like myfile.php?sub=web?page=web1 And then remove the ?sub=web from it, even if the value of ?sub is different ? Someone said something about $PHP_SELF but I dont know where to go from there.
