well, I think only this feature cannot justify the need for that editor.
I run a local Linux machine with a Samba and that means - 1. 'Save', 2.
'Alt-Tab', 3. 'F5'.
Then ftp onto production server. But I do believe some people like that
functionality.
What's great about a text editor for my work are regex searches and
replacements, windows management, moving, splitting windows in two, four,
ten all within one application - your windows breathes easier.
Edit+ is just the best. I'm sometimes even scared of being too conservative
about it - I love it so much.
btw: there are some solution with edit plus FTP as well. it can, maybe not
as well as Allaire HomeSite, but...

I'd like to recommend Allaire HomeSite.
I haven't seen any other programs for Windows you can edit remote files
instead of the usual "download, edit, upload". Let me know if there are
other good editors with this feature.
It supports lots of formats - not just .php, and i think it's _the_ editor
to use if you do presentation programming.
There are three bad things about this program though;
1, The price - $99 usd ($89 if you download it).
2, It takes alot of system resources.
3, There are still some bugs in their ftp engine.
There's a 30-day evaluation to grab from www.allaire.com or
www.macromedia.com
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Johannes Schill
