What about Emacs? I think this is the most powerful, configurable and extensible. Not only good
with PHP, but also pretty good for any programming language (C, C++, Java, Ada, Assembly, HTML,
etc). You can compile your programs from Emacs, and even debug them. Also have a lot of add-on like
calculator, email client, news reader, calendar, ftp mode, etc.
In my opinion, the best choice for a serious programmer.
