To clarify we have some big pages (doing large database reports) which can take up to a minute to run. If i go into IE (5 in this case) login and spawn a new window (with an open in new window, or CTRL+N) then run a large query in Window 1, anything i do in Window 2 waits for Window 1 to finish. The reason why i assume is because i have a prepend.php with session_start(); session_register("x"); session_register("y"); session_register("z"); so that sessions work on everypage. Could it be that the /tmp/sess_XXX files are locked for the duration of the report? Then the second file tries to open it and it cant? During testing this users can have two separate Windows as long as they are both run directly from the executable. If this happens they have two separate session id's and no problems except they must login twice (the point behind the sessions) Thanks for any help, mn Mark Nold markn@alverstone.com.au Systems Consultant Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.
