logic question

hey- I'm in the process of writing a links page for a website. I want to have all the links seperated by category, and those categories would be placed in different columns. This means also that different categories of links could be on the same row in the table used to lay it all out. i'm pulling the category out of the mysql db, does anyone have an example i can look at on how I might go about doing this?? chris
