I found it interesting that on 7/11/00 12:59 PM Ed Vul said:

Hmmm, that should work, but there could also be a share level permission.
This really belongs in a windows list but I will venture a thought. I may be
wrong here but I'll put this out anyway.
There are two "gateways" a user must go through, so to speak, when accessing
a resource on a Windows computer.
1. The Share Permissions
2. The file permissions.
If the directory is located on another server then the user has to pass
through the "share" permissions as well as the file permissions, if the file
is located on the local server you only have to contend with the "file"
permissions.
The share permissions override, so to speak, the file permissions so if the
share is set more restrictive than the file permissions then the share will
override and the user can't write to the directory.
Um, there could be something else I just thought of. Go into the MMC for IIS
and select the properties of the directory in question, you may need to add
"write" permissions to that directory. If you can't do it without creating
an application for that directory then you will have to do that.
